Cardinal Spirits Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a smooth and complex whiskey that has been aged over three years. It is distilled from regional grain and finished with the characteristic Heartland flavor. This whiskey has notes of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, roasted nuts, and rye spice.

THE DISTILLERY

Cardinal Spirits is a craft distillery in Bloomington, Ind., that makes vodkas, gins, rums, liqueurs, and canned cocktails, and distributes them in 12 states and Washington, D.C. Everything we use to distill and flavor our award-winning spirits are real-deal botanicals, fruits, and spices — we never use bottled extracts or flavorings — and we source local ingredients like grains and honey and walnuts whenever possible.
WHAT YOU CAN DO HERE
At our distillery, we have a tasting room, cocktail bar, and restaurant, and we offer distillery tours, too (currently, tours are paused due to the global pandemic. Our restaurant and bar offers cocktails and food from scratch on Wednesdays-Saturdays, plus Sunday brunch. Our beautiful patio is among the best in Bloomington, overlooking the B-Line walking and biking path.
WHY WE DO IT
Why did we start Cardinal Spirits? Because we wanted to make something we could hold in our hands; because we wanted to create a workplace where people enjoy showing up, where days are fulfilling and meaningful, and where creativity is valued; and because we wanted to increase connections among people and our community.

BOURBON MAPLE CIDER

Bourbon, maple syrup, apple cider, cinnamon — what more could you want in a fall cocktail? Enjoy this one around the fire pit or snuggled on the couch, or batched up for a fall dinner at home with friends.

BOURBON MAPLE CIDER

2 ounces Cardinal Spirits Straight Bourbon Whiskey 
.75 ounce maple syrup
.75 ounce lemon juice
apple cider, to taste
cinnamon stick and apple slice, for garnish

Add bourbon, maple syrup and lemon juice to a shaker filled with ice; shake well. Strain into a glass filled with ice, then top with apple cider. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and apple slice.
